Taking a Minute

I’m not one to wax poetic very often, but I’m not sure what i was expecting when I first announcedthat I would be traveling to Haiti soon. I didn’t have a plan, didn’t have funds specifically laid out, didn’t even fully comprehend what I was getting myself into. All I knew was that I needed to get to Port au Prince someway somehow and contrary to my nature, I was just going to go with the flow.

Fast forward to today, and I am just floored by the support I have received from friends, family, and even people that I’ve only “met” through this blog. People have rallied round and donated money, time, and all sorts of resources to see to it that I make it to Haiti—I wasn’t expecting any of it but I am so so thankful.

I’ve done a lot of foolish things in my life and this might be by far the most foolish but guess what? It’s exciting! It’s scary, and it’s almost here.

I realize that not everybody would understand why I care so much about orphans and widows so I put together this little montage just for you. I hope you enjoy and perhaps get a glimpse into the world through my brown eyes.
